GENEROSITY knows no bounds for the pupils at Woolston CE Primary School after they amazed their chosen charity with the amount they managed to raise.

Despite being a small school, with just under 200 children on the roll, the school still managed to raise £1,397 for the NSPCC through sponsorship alone.

Infants were each given a picture and told to spot the unsafe items while juniors were given the task of learning 20 related words for a sponsored spelling test.

Head teacher Gareth Jones, said: "The generosity of the school family is astonishing. We had no idea that it would be so well supported by parents and the children themselves.

"The cash we raised will help fund essential children's services and projects while providing much needed help and counselling for children who are currently in crisis and suffering the effects of cruelty."
