With regard to your front-page article 'Drink ban divides village', may I make the following observations?

The local councillors are the elected representatives of the local population and presumably have their backing in the matter, secondly that the Police attitude smacks of the intransigence of the Police management when they refused (at the time) to reopen Nantwich Police station

Local councillors and parishioners want solutions not problems and there appears to be very little constructive advice currently being given by the local Police.

The fear of crime is a very real threat to the elderly and I seem to remember that when I joined the Police Service over 40 years ago the primary object of an efficient Police was prevention of crime.

Or is that too much to ask these days?
