THE counting may still be going on but organisers have confirmed that this year's duck race raised several thousands of pounds.

The event, which is held on Easter Monday, raises cash for Lymm charities and, with 2,000 tickets sold and 3,000 people in attendance, it was a massive success.

The money will be handed out in the coming months.

Steve Robinson, president of Lymm and District Round Table, said: "I would like to thank everyone who sponsored ducks and bought quackers. From those buying one ticket at £1 to our main sponsors who raised more than £1,500."

The main sponsor, Country Properties, gave £1,500.

The Round Table is a group of volunteers which raises money for good causes. If you are interested in joining in and coming to the next social evening, call Steve Robinson on 07713 503470.
