MRS Wavish was presented with a floral arrangement for her 90th birthday.
We will be having a mock auction at our May meeting.
Our speaker, Mrs R Collins, gave us an interesting talk on the 50s. She worked for Owen Owen in Liverpool and the sister shop TJ Hughes, and she had quite a few comical stories about her time there. She finished with a story about a lady who was found collapsed and when staff removed her hat, they found a frozen chicken!
The talk next month, on April 27, will be Aspects of Nepal by Sheila Bull.
