Embroiderers Guild
by Anne Ongley
VARIOUS outings were announced and our first newsletter, compiled by Sandra, was distributed.
Our speaker, Sue Taylor, gave a fascinating insight into the history of lace making and quoted rhymes and sayings. She displayed some beautifully crafted lace bobbins and examples of various types of lace, and demonstrated some of her skills.
Our May speaker, Anne Rogers, will show inspiration for embroidery along pilgrim routes of North Wales.
Visitors warmly welcomed on May 5 at 7.30pm at Padgate Methodist Church, Tidal Lane.
A Kantha embroidery and silk painting with embroidery workshop is to be held on May 14.
