THE next Understanding Antiques evening course starts at Lowton Community Sports College on Wednesday, May 4, from 7pm until 9pm.
The aim of the course is to give an insight into the major design styles of antiques, ranging from neo-classical to arts and crafts, and to research the influence of well-known designers such as Clarice Cliff and Thomas Chippendale.
Help and advice on object identification, what to collect and where to find it will be given.
Course leader Barry Hayes said: "This course is very successful. It is informative and entertaining. People are encouraged to discuss their collecting interests and widen their knowledge of antiques and fine art."
No previous antiques knowledge is needed. The course costs £25.
