A LICENSEE was confronted by a burglar in his pub in the early hours of Saturday.
He went to investigate the sound of breaking glass and was faced with a man in a balaclava brandishing a baseball bat on the landing of the pub's private quarters.
The incident happened at The Maltings, in Bewsey Farm Close, Old Hall, at around 2am.
The man threatened the licensee before escaping with a quantity of cash, which he put into a navy duffel bag.
