ROADWORKS holding up rush-hour traffic heading out of Warrington should be finished by next week.
Work on the sewers in Thelwall Lane, Latchford, are in progress as part of the residential development planned on the site of the former Renault garage.
And the closure of a lane has meant longer queues for commuters travelling in Warrington's peak time hell.
One motorist said: "It's just one
more factor slowing traffic down.
"If the swing bridge goes off as well it will be worse than ever."
A spokesman for Warrington Borough Council said that a private contractor was carrying out the work which was due to finish next week.
He added: "Part of the carriageway will be open to traffic and more will be opened as the work progresses."
Briden Construction is building more than 60 new homes on the former garage site.
