A TERRITORIAL Army unit that has its headquarters in Warrington has appointed a new Honorary Colonel.
Brigadier John Thomson has assumed the role at The King's and Cheshire Regiment (KCR), one of the north west's two TA infantry units.
The appointment follows the retirements of Colonel Ian Paterson and Colonel William Bromley-Davenport, who have completed a remarkable 100 years combined service with the armed forces.
Lieutenant Colonel Peter Rafferty, commanding officer of KCR, said: "They have made a significant contribution to our evolution, having given tremendous support to the KCR as well as its forebears for many years."
