A LOSTOCK student is heading off to the bright lights of the big city after landing a coveted job in television.
Rob Williams is starting his new career at Sky Sports TV in London at the end of April after studying media communications and production at Mid-Cheshire College in Hartford.
The 20-year-old also achieved photography and creative computing qualifications to add to his CV as well as spending two years gaining valuable work experience as a photo editor at a Manchester-based soap magazine, as a freelance writer for the official Manchester United magazine and as a researcher for the football club's own TV station, MUTV.
Rob said: "It has really paid off building up all this work experience as my interviewer at Sky was really impressed and offered me the job straight away - it is worth working for nothing."
Last summer Rob was invited to New York to help a team of creative and marketing directors to re-brand the Hotel Conxions website.
He values all of these varied experiences and knows they will stand him in good stead for the future.
He said: "I have been very lucky getting so many opportunities and I have certainly picked up numerous tips by listening to what people say.
"I am very excited about starting my new career in a junior creative role - Sky thinks I have something special and that one day I would be a producer or director with them."
