Finnforest Open Age Cup
Competition Week One
THE three games in the first week all went according to status with premier division sides Widnes Albion and Halton Farnworth Hornets and National Conference side St Maries all through to the next round after victories over Albert Park, West Bank Swan and Widnes Tigers. Next Tuesday, April 26 St Maries host the second semi-final.
This will feature the winners of this week's games between Widnes Albion and West Bank and Widnes Ball and Simms Cross.
Widnes Albion 8
Albert Park 4
THE Albert started well with forwards Richie O'Neill, Mike Randall and Gary Rolt running well and halfbacks Chris Walton and Alan Ditchfield in control.
West Bank Swan 10
St Maries 50
WEST Bank Swan, the town's newest side, was given a very difficult task on their Widnes cup debut.
H'ton F'worth Hornets 48
Widnes Tigers 10
WITH both sides struggling in recent weeks a close game looked likely.
