BURTONWOOD will travel to Wigan Warriors' JJB Stadium on May 15 to face Widnes St Maries in the grand final of the Under 12s Lancashire Cup after they eased past Chorley in the semi final. Declan Hulme and Ryan Dixon registered tries, with Marcus Baines goaling as well as touching down. Anthony Chisnall and Tom Snooks also kicked goals. The team depart for France tomorrow, Friday, to take on Lezignan XIII as part of their annual tour.

RYLANDS secured their place in the final of the North West Counties Cup after a battling win against Blackbrook. Player of the match James Mendeika ran in two tries, with Jamie Howard goaling twice. Joe Clarke was the top tackler, while Lewis Johnson and Jordan Burke put in good performances.

BURTONWOOD dominated long periods of the game before Mayfield rallied and grabbed the points with breakaway tries at the end of each half. First-half Bulldogs pressure produced tries for Adam Bellas and Andy Norris, while Joss Blackburn was on target with three penalties.

CULCHETH lost at home against Widnes Moorfield in a well-contested match. Sean Clark went over once and kicked one goal, as did Sean Pinkstone, who ran the length of the field to score. Anthony Hamilton was the player of the match, while Andrew Jones won the top tackler award and Peter Meadows was voted the most improved player.

WOOLSTON produced a strong second-half comeback that was not quite enough to avoid defeat against Leigh East. Sean Boyle crossed twice for Rovers, while Michael Speakman also touched down. Craig Lawton and James Rowland both goaled once.

JORDAN Sherlock scored three tries and goaled once as Grappenhall defeated Latchford to extend their winning run. Luke Gillooley and Lloyd O'Brien both added a goal to their tries, while Liam Hanley, Daniel Harbidge and player of the match Luke Wood also crossed. Sam Brennan, Steven Pilkington, Thomas Blackshaw and coaches' award winner Jack Buckley each kicked one goal.

A HAT-TRICK from David Mee helped Crosfields to grab their first win of the season against Grappenhall. Joshua Wall, Tom Gibbons, Will Maudsley and player of the match Andrew Messenger also crossed along with Jamie Greenhalgh and Daniel Dowman, who both converted. Mat Wilcock kicked one goal while Adam Brimble was the most improved player.

LATCHFORD produced some enterprising play but could not hold out a strong Blackbrook outfit. Player of the match Wharton registered all of Albion's points after converting his own try, while Slydell was the top attacker, Cox was the top defender, and Morgan won the coaches' award.

A LATE try saw Crosfields edged out by Widnes Moorfield in a physical encounter. Alex Newton touched down twice, while Mike Ryder and Luke Cunningham also went over. Josh Hensey took the player of the match honours, Robson Boyne was the top tackler and the coaches' special effort awards went to William Moore and Joel Albiston.

JAKE Upton ran in a hat-trick of tries as an outstanding Latchford performance helped them overcome Rochdale Mayfield. Sam Dobson and Kurt Whiteley both crossed twice while Sean Withington also touched down. James Jones was the player of the match, and the whole team received the unsung hero award after working well together in the game.

CROSFIELDS paid for a slow start as they went down to a defeat against a robust Rochdale Mayfield side. Liam Hill crossed twice and George Moore touched down once, while Grady James was another to put in an impressive performance.

PLAYER of the match Ryan Botell crossed as Rylands came out on top in the 'derby' clash with Latchford. Callum Leonard weighed in with two tries, while Theo Holt, Joe McLaughlin and coaches' award winner Jamie Birchall also touched down. Nathan Harrop was named the top tackler.

A BATTLING second half performance from Rylands was not quite sufficient to overturn a 12-point deficit against Newton. Player of the match Jack Adcroft registered three tries as Sharks showed excellent attacking and defensive qualities after the break. Sam Hickey was the top tackler and Callum Hinton earned the merit award.
