I have lived in Warrington for the past 45 years, in that time I have witnessed many changes.

Most of these changes seem to be of little benefit to the people in Warrington.

A quick look at the road layout changes, especially over the past 10 to 15 years, seem to have caused more traffic problems throughout the town and surrounding areas.

Now the top brains have come up with the most pathetic idea that Dick Turpin would be proud of. Yes you guessed it, the congestion charge.

The so-called experts that have caused all the traffic problems now want the people of Warrington to pay for their mistakes.

Surely there is no justice to this idea because it won't eliminate congestion it will just generate another income for the council.

If someone other than a politician was to come up with such a money-making scheme surely they would go to jail for embezzlement.

Then there's the new 'new' town that is on its way, with all the shops. How are all the shoppers going to get in and out of this quagmire? When its all goes pear-shaped, do we knock it down and start again?

Surely that's a more realistic way of re-rooting the traffic from the town centre?
