WALKING through Warrington on Monday afternoon, about 2pm, I was surprised to see at least two groups of school age children messing around.
Why weren't they in school?
Surely if schools operate a system whereby parents must phone to report if their child is sick, then they would know if a child failed to turn up and be able to inform their parents.
Schools and parents must take some responsibility for this, we can't expect the police to solve everything.
I would certainly want to know that my child was safe.
