animal magic has got

Viv the

vixen

hooked

IF ever there was an affair to make your skin crawl, Paddy and Viv's has to be it in Emmerdale.

Why anybody would want to sleep with wet vet Paddy is beyond me. He's hardly the kind of character to set your pulse racing.

And he is normally so predictable and sickly sweet that these rampant rendezvous are completely out of character and quite hard to believe.

It is equally as impossible to imagine what Paddy sees in Viv the unlikely vixen. I would have thought she would have scared him out of the village.

Then again, he has spent the past couple of years married to Emily. That must be enough to drive anybody to the end of their tether.

But the end of the affair could be looming as the shy shop girl discovers the truth about her philandering husband.

Elsewhere, while Katy's had enough of crying and permanently puts herself out of her misery with a big Corrie exit, there's a big return for Phil Mitchell in EastEnders.

As exciting as it may be, and with rumours flying around that Grant will also be returning, you have to wonder how any wannabe gangster will fare now that Johnny Allen's on the square.

Finally, I can't let this week go by without giving a big hand to the little boy who plays Tom Cunningham in Hollyoaks.

I switched on the other night to see him reunited with Mandy after his running away episode.

While small soap children are by nature irritating, he was a little star and quite a little actor. Let's get him a soap award!

GOTCHA: Viv well and truly gets a grip of her man as she gets her claws into Paddy, but how will Emily react in Emmerdale?
