BOOKWORMS at Newchurch Primary School have benefited from almost 80 books donated by parents.
The tradition of giving books dates back to 2000, when books were first displayed at a parents evening giving parents the chance to choose a book to donate.
A plaque is then placed in the book showing the date and the name of the person who made the contribution.
Sara Walker, new head teacher at the school, said: "This is a wonderful tradition which enriches the reading matter available in school while giving the parents the opportunity to be involved in the choice of books available to their children."
