A WARRINGTON company has received special praise for using a top business emblem on its products.
New Balance has incorporated the 'flying e' emblem, the symbol for the Queen's Award, on its trainer design.
The athletic shoes manufacturer was joint winner of the award last year with textile company Panaz, of Fence near Burnley. It won the prestigious award for enterprise in the international trade category.
Both New Balance and Panaz were highly commended and have entered into a light-hearted competition between themselves to find the most enterprising way to use the 'flying e' emblem on their products.
Steve Brice, secretary of The Queen's Award, said: "Unusual ways of using this elegant emblem can help draw attention to a firm's success in winning the most sought-after accolade in British business."
New Balance, based at Centre Park, Warrington, sells high-performance footwear in 30 countries, and has incorporated the Queen's Award emblem on more than 1.2 million pairs of shoes, and special pairs produced for VIP visitors.
