A WARRINGTON steel company is celebrating after doubling its size and turnover
Warrington Fabrication Company on Old Liverpool Road, Great Sankey, is reaping the rewards of a £1.5 million investment.
After 30 years the company has more than doubled its workforce from 24 to 58 full-time employees.
And this year Warrington Fabrication Company is looking to almost double its turnover. It is already projected at £7,000,000, up from last year's £3,600,000
Martin Simcock, managing director, said: "If we carry on the way we've been going since January it will be £8.5 million but I'm projecting £7 million."
Mr Simcock has worked for the company for 28 years and is enthusiastic about Warrington workers.
He said: "We have looked at moving to Manchester, Widnes or Speke but found that although the rates and properties are cheaper than in Warrington, we stayed here because of the town's skills base and very good working attitude."
Warrington Fabrication Company's investment in a new building and state of the art equipment has given it a competitive edge.
Mr Simcock said that in the past it would take one employee 10 or 11 hours to produce one piece of steel but with the new equipment it is now taking 22 minutes.
