AN NHS dentist has set up in Knutsford after being unable to find premises in Lymm.

Roger Klein, aged 37, who has been a dentist for 10 years has bought a practice with his wife, Sally, who is the manager.

The couple live in Lymm but were unable to find a suitable building with the right planning permission.

Mr Klein said: "You need special permission for medical and dental premises and it would have taken too long to get. We wanted to move quickly and the ideal premises came up in Knutsford, although I am more than happy to treat patients from Lymm."

Roger has been working for a sedation treatment dental practice in Manchester and is continuing to work there two days a week.

He has also spent thousands of pounds on a sedation and recovery room in his new practice.

Mr Klein says helping relieve people of pain through dentistry is why he enjoys his work.

He is also committed to the NHS, although understands why dentists have chosen to go private.

He said: "I wanted to give people the option of all treatments, whether private or NHS. However, I recognise the concern dentists have over the new contracts and it is difficult to run an NHS practice in terms of cost."

Regent Cosmetic Practice opened on April 8. To register call 01565 654555.
