MEMBERS travelled to the charming village of Troutbeck in the heart of Lakeland.
Keith Bridle led the A party for a 12-and-a-half mile walk through Wansfell, Idle Hill, Broad End, St Raven's Edge, Pike How, John Bells Banner, Caudale Moor, Stony Cove Pike, Threshwaits Mouth, Froswick, York, Garburn Nook and then The Howe.
The B party was led by Peter Voas and he took members along a bridleway to join the Garburn Road, an old track to the top of the Garnurn Pass. Then it was across boggy moorland to Yoke then Ill Bell, Froswick and eventually Thornthwaite Crag, Park Fell, Hagg Gill, through Troutbeck Park to Hagg Bridge and via Ing Lane to the finish for 10-and-a-half miles.
The C Party, led by Pauline Jones, travelled nine miles through Grass Garth, Mickle Moss, Whiteside End, Kentmere, Crabtree Brow, Garburn Pass, Garburn Road and The Howe.
Alan Jones led the D party for a seven mile walk to Hagg Bridge, The Tongue, Long Green Head, Garburn Road and Church Bridge.
