THE Bridge shopping centre on Knutsford Road should be open for business this summer.
The eagerly awaited centre, in Latchford village, has been the source of a lot of speculation since work commenced last year.
A nearby shop owner said: "It will be great for the village to have something like this, somewhere for the people of Latchford to do their shopping. It will also bring new customers here."
Rumours are circulating that the centre will include an upmarket pub/restaurant, a bank and a supermarket.
Director Kevin Read of Read Property, the company behind the development, said: "We cannot divulge the names of the anchor stores just yet, but hope to do so within the next two to three weeks.
"I can confirm that there will be a convenience store/supermarket to replace the old Kwik Save and a couple of restaurants and a health club at first floor level.
"The ground floor will have a variety of national stores, including possibly a video store, bookshop, chemist and bakery, but we still have to decide on the best line-up."
Look out for more updates on the Bridge shopping centre in the Warrington Guardian as and when they are announced.
