THE owner of a Warrington textile store says he is working to help a major development come to the town centre.
TP Textiles, on Winwick Street, is the only building left on a site where developers Modus has blueprints to build a major project.
As reported in the Warrington Guardian, the Bay Horse pub was knocked down earlier this year at the same site.
Malcolm Woods, owner of the shop, says he was very enthusiastic about the new scheme and would talk about a possible move later in the year.
He added: "Just before Christmas I had an informal conversation with Modus Properties.
"We both agreed this (development) would put the icing on the cake for Warrington now that the Golden Square had the go ahead."
He says Modus asked him to consider moving later this year, after the site had been cleared up.
"Our customers ask everyday if we are closing and I am very concerned that they know that if and when we move, we will inform them of our new home."
