PARTS of Wilderspool Causeway will close over two days this month to allow essential works on the busy stretch of road.
On Sunday the northbound carriageway will be closed from 8am to 5pm for resurfacing works.
On the following Sunday the southbound carriageway will also close.
The aim of the maintenance is to reduce impact on traffic during busy periods and to minimise disruption.
Council representative, Steve Moorhouse, said: "We have planned these works carefully so they are carried out at off peak times.
"We apologise for any inconvenience these essential works may cause."
A diversion route will be in place.
