IT was a thrilling moment for Jessica Owen when she was chosen to be this year's Comberbach Rose Queen.

Jessica, 10, of Broadacre, has been in the retinue each year since she was five as a flower girl, crown bearer, junior attendant and senior attendant.

Jessica, who is a pupil at Comberbach Primary School, is a member of 1st Comberbach Guides and sings in the school and Comberbach Methodist Church choirs.

This year's fete has the theme of Medieval Madness and organisers are hoping to have jousting, juggling, fire eating and mandolin playing.

A scarecrow competition on a medieval theme will also be taking place before the fete. The main event takes place on Saturday, June 25, at Comberbach Primary School.
