YET again Northwich Heritage Society came up trumps with another excellent talk at Mid-Cheshire College's Hartford campus.
As one of a rapidly diminishing group that 'provided entertainment once the leaders had gone past' at Oulton Park in the late 50s and early 60s, Mark Bevan's talk was both evocative and informative.
For those of us who find tuning a modern car radio confusing, could I please publicise The Vintage Sports Car Club meeting at Oulton on Saturday, May 28, where we can all revel in the world as it was and maybe should have remained.
On the track there were real racing cars; in the park, cars where you changed down to go over a cat's eye rather than today's vehicles where you have at least one more gear available when you are doing 100mph in a soulless cocoon!
