MIDDLEWICH Town FC enjoyed a rare weekend off this week, but had to watch as Barnton leapfrogged them into first place in Mid Cheshire Division One.

But Middlewich have the chance to exact revenge tonight, Wednesday, when the two sides clash in the final of the Mid Cheshire FA Saturday Cup.

Barnton may have the edge in terms of current form, but when these two meet the form book often goes out of the window and Middlewich will be looking to claim a trophy with their rivals now looking odds on to win the league.

Meanwhile Middlewich Reserves go from strength to strength and two wins in a week have left them top of the Reserves Division with a game in hand on rivals Daten.
