TRICORN and Halton Marauders took the honours at the War Memorial Club on Friday night when two further cup competitions were brought to a conclusion.

It started with the section two final of the Committee Challenge cup with Halton Marauders facing Royal Oak. The opening three singles games all went in favour of Halton Marauders. They increased their lead to 4/0 when they won the first of the pair's games.

Royal Oak opened their account when they won the remaining two pairs games. The next game however, the first of the remaining three singles games, resulted in an 18 dart game putting Halton Marauders into a 5/2 lead, before winning the remaining two games for a final score of Royal Oak 2 Halton Marauders 7.

Next came the final of the Todger Jones VC cup, which featured Albion and Tricorn.

This competition consisted of five pairs, 501 up double start and finish. Tricorn won the first game, their lead was then increased to 2/0. This meant Albion had to win the three remaining games for victory and they responded to level the match to two games .

In a close deciding game it was Tricorn who came out on top.

Last Thursday night the second rounds of both the Town Championship and Executive Competition were staged.

There were no real surprises in the Town Championship with all four section one teams remaining in the competition winning through to the semi finals. Halfway A took a 6/3 win against Fiddlers III, while Lion Doo Waps won 7/2 against Dev Superstars.

Albion ran out 6/3 winners against RAOB Buffs.

Although Weston Point SC had produced an excellent second half to their season the section three team found section one opponents Navvy a little too strong for them with the latter running out 8/1 winners.

In the Executive Competition section three team Jolly Brewer did themselves proud by beating section two opponents RNA 5/4.

Roundhouse A won 6/3 against Lion while the local derby at the War Memorial Club resulted in a 5/4 win for Outcasts against Wanderers. The holders of the trophy, Likely Lads made their way to the semi finals of the competition via a 7/2 win against Castle.

This Thursday night two further finals will take place at the War Memorial Club, including the final of the Best Sports cup between Tricorn and Navvy and the section one final of the Committee Challenge cup, with Halfway A facing Albion

Next Thursday night, May 5, the semi finals of both the Town Championship and Executive Competition will be staged.
