2005 Finnforest Open Age Cup
Competition Week Two
NATIONAL Conference league side St Maries are the first team through to the Finnforest cup final after a convincing victory over Halton Farnworth Hornets from the NWC premier division.
The Maries will meet either Simms Cross or Widnes Albion who met last Tuesday in the other semi-final. Both Simmies and the Albion came through close games last week that showed the depth of local talent.
The final is at Halton Stadium on Bank Holiday Monday, May 2. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for unaccompanied children.

PREMIER division side Widnes Albion snatched victory with a late rally in the final five minutes of the match.

WIDNES Ball from NWC division two came close to an upset over premier division champions Simms Cross. Simmies went through courtesy of two tries, three goals and a drop goal by Brian Capewell and a try by David Percival.

THE Maries never looked in trouble against an under strength Farnworth side that one week earlier looked to be getting some form back.
