I am outraged at the sale of the Queens Hall studio venue to the corporation Marmalade, rather than the not-for-profit community group Loose. Once again, the council is trying so hard to renovate and rejuvenate the town centre that they seem to forget exactly who it is that lives here.
Widnes has and has always had a thriving music scene, since the days of The Beatles playing on the Queens Hall stage.
To find this local talent has been brushed aside for corporate politics and the old-fashioned root of all evil has left me speechless.
