THE Queens Hall studio should be brought back into use by Loose Music Collective, not Marmalade.
Loose do not ask for grants from the council, while Marmalade has been given £2 million pounds to play about with.
Marmalade are planning to use the Queens Hall Studio for dance, poetry and drama, when millions of pounds were spent on The Brindley Arts Centre for that, while there is a lack of venues for musical acts or bands. As a member of a band myself, and having played and attended both venues, I can say the acoustics in the Queens Hall are some of the best around. If the Queens Hall was put back in use it could be a venue for touring acts and save us travelling to Manchester or if we are lucky, Liverpool.
