IN ALL the letters I read in the Guardian every week, I am amazed at people 'knocking' Warrington.
Warrington has one of the best town centres in the north west, Golden Square, Bridge Street, the Market, the numerous eating places.
I think Warrington people should compare other town centres with theirs and, if they come to St Helens, they will find the main streets with shops closed down.
Also, if you bring sport into it, the Fordton Centre takes some beating, and also The Halliwell Jones Stadium is a credit. The Saints' Knowsley Road ground has not changed since Gregory, Vinty, Vaughan and Murphy played there!
So, people of Warrington, you are not so badly off after all, are you?
I would love to live in Appleton, but Penketh, Great Sankey, Grappenhall, Culcheth, Glazebury, Walton, Lymm and Padgate take some beating.
We in St Helens do have Eccleston Park and Rainford, but the rest of the areas have gone down in my estimation.
