NANTWICH Players are to mark the 60th anniversary of the end of the Second World War with a special presentation in their theatre.
The Players will be presenting Cheshire author Robert Meadows' Victory V at their theatre in Pillory Street from May 7-14.
The play is a series of scenes from wartime life on both the home front and abroad, and includes music and dance from the time, and a singing finale in which the audience is invited to participate.
The theatre foyer will be decorated with wartime material, and there will be a specially printed programme.
On the opening night, the Players are asking the audience to attend in wartime and 1940s style costume, and there will be a prize for the most authentic.
Director Jerry Park said: "There is terrific team spirit, with nearly 30 in the cast, and a crew working overtime to find the right costumes, lighting, props, publicity and sound."
Tickets for the play are currently on sale at Nantwich TIC on 01270 610983.
