A HOUSING development will be built in Penketh despite residents' concerns.
The borough council's planning committee approved plans for eight two-bedroom apartments and two three-bedroom houses to be constructed at the site of Payne Engineering, in Bank Gardens.
Existing buildings on the site will be demolished.
Neighbours raised concerns about the impact the scheme would have on traffic in the already busy Warrington Road, and say that the apartment block should be a single-storey building, not two storeys.
Council officers, however, said that the traffic generated from the development would not cause a significant impact on the road network.
