A POTHOLED car park is to receive a much needed £15,000 revamp.
Resurfacing work at the site, outside the Wroxham Road Centre in Great Sankey, is due to start this month.
Warrington Borough Council's environmental fund is paying for half the project, with Great Sankey Parish Council funding the rest.
Parish Council chairman Clr Roy Smith said: "We are delighted to have been awarded this grant, as the work will really help the community.
"The car park is used not just by people coming to the centre but parents dropping off their children at Park Road Primary School.
"There are a lot of pot holes, and puddles when it is wet, so it will be great to get it resurfaced."
One Great Sankey parent said: "This is really good news as the car park has been in a real state.
"There is nothing worse than driving over a mighty pot hole, and it is so annoying to walk across there, and dangerous for kids who might trip up and fall.
"If only some of the roads in this town were given the same makeover treatment - it would provide a much more pleasant driving experience."
Borough councillors can apply for a grant from the environmental improvement fund, which is a £500,000 kitty set aside for green projects.
