A YOUNGSTER lost part of his finger after a freak accident in Newton on Saturday.
Paramedics were called to the Total service station, on Mill Lane, after the 10-year-old boy arrived with his mother needing urgent medical attention.
The child, playing in a street nearby, fell on railings before landing on a piece of glass.
The youngster was taken to Warrington Hospital and underwent surgery on the severed finger.
