BATTLE of the bands kicks off on Sunday at 7pm at the Griffin Hotel, on Earle Street.
It will feature performances from town favourites Richboy, April's Rhymes from Liverpool and two Warrington bands - Spontaneously Naked and Indenial.
There are still places remaining in the contest, with the winners scooping a day at Warrington's Frog Studios, where Tony Christie recorded Is This The Way To Amarillo, Britain's current number one single.
The first prize also comes with a guaranteed place at Newton Music Festival on July 23.
