The road will temporarily close to vehicles from its junction with Chester Road, A56 until its junction with Warrington Road.
And the footway on the northern side of Rowswood Lane will be closed east of Chester Road for 30 metres.
The closure is expected to be in operation for two weeks, and signs will be put up to inform people.
Vehicles can use alternative routes via Chester Road, Keckwick Lane, Daresbury Lane and Warrington Road.
