At Chelford the home side beat league newcomers Woodford by 98 runs. Chelford batted first for 183 for 9 wickets with M Dickenson making 42, T Weston 46 and M Dingle unbeaten on 33*

In reply, Woodford were bowled out for 85 with M Sharp taking 4 wickets for 5 for Chelford.

At Ellesmere Port, the home side beat the other League newcomers Styal by 3 wickets.

Styal were bowled out for 117 with S Shawcross making 35. P Betteridge took 5 wickets for 42 runs for the home side.

Ellesmere Port got home with 118 for 7 wickets with J Pardow taking 4 wickets for 25 for Styal.

At Chester, Chester County P Officers beat Barclays Radbroke Hall by 57 runs.

Chester CIO Batted first and made 183 for 6 wickets with S Johnson 68 and M Pownall 33.

The visitors were bowled out for 126 with D Owen 62.

At Sandbach the match with visitors Kinglsey was drawn. Sandbach batted first for 216 for 7 wickets with J De Silva making the first league ton of the season with 110 and A Williams 67.

A Alderman took 4 wickets for 36 for Kinglsey.

In reply Kinglsey were 103 for 7 wickets with N Rowlands 39 and A Burdon unbeaten on 34*.

At Wistaston, the visitors Northwich won by 41 runs. Northwich were bowled out for 104 with M. Phillips making 34.

In reply, Wistaston were dismissed for 63 with M Lightburn taking 6 wickets for 13 runs.

Division 2.

At Disley, visitors Appleton beat the home side by 5 wickets. Disley batted first and posted 125 for 7 wickets. Appleton won the game with 128 for 5 wickets with A Hurst 51.

At Eastham & Bromborough, visitors Wilmslow Wayfarers won a tight game by 2 wickets.

The home side were dismissed for 91 with M Griffiths 38. Salem took 4 wickets for 23 and A Bruce 5 wickets for 29 runs for the visitors.

Wilmslow Wayfarers won the game with 92 for 8 wickets. S Harvey took 4 wickets for 29 runs for the home side.

At Hartford, the visitors Stalybridge St Pauls won by 37 runs. Stalybridge St Pauls batted first for 140 all out, M Omar 32 and M Shrinkfield took 6 wickets for 59 runs.

In reply, Hartford were dismissed for 103. N Hart made 48 and M Omar took 4 wickets for 31 and J Brownhill took 4 wickets for 10 runs.

At Langley the match with Grange was drawn.

The visitors posted 219 for 8 wickets with I McCue 64 and D Mason unbeaten on 64*.

In reply Langley were 125 for 8 wickets with R Laughton 41 and G Duffy 33. I turner took 4 wickets for 26 for Grange.

At Trinity, visitors Frodsham beat the home side by 3 runs. Frodsham made 178 for 7 wickets with G Houghton 32, J Lewis 33 and B Large.

In reply, Trinity fell just short with 175. C Harries made 38, A Twidell 31 and C Nash 44 with B Large completing a fine game with 4 wickets for 37 runs.

Division 3

At Capenhurst, visitors Mossley won by 6 wickets. Capenhurst were bowled out for 67 with P Moss taking 7 wickets for 20 for Mossley. In reply, Mossley got home with 69 for 4 wickets.

At Audlem, visitors Rostherne also won by 6 wickets.

Audlem were bowled out for 102. Rostherne won the game with 104 for 4 wickets with C Bethell unbeaten on 56*,

The game at Port Sunlight with Saughall was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
