Town safe after stunning victory

WARRINGTON Town Ladies soccer team produced a stunning performance on the last day of the season to avoid relegation.

Despite falling behind against Bolton, Town fought back strongly to win 3-1.

Nolan was on target twice and Wilcock also found the net, while Sadler saved a late penalty.

Junior cup finals

THE end-of-season series of Warrington Junior Soccer League Cup finals kick into action on Sunday at Victoria Park.

Culcheth and Woolston will contest the Red Line Under 11s Cup Final at 10.30am, with Widnes outfit Dundalk taking on Rope and Anchor in the under 12s showdown at noon, before Walkers play Eagle in the under 13s finale at 1.30pm.

Third in Styal

CROSFIELDS maintained third position in Mid-Cheshire Soccer League Division One with a 2-1 victory at Styal on Saturday.

Neil Sutch put the visitors in front after 14 minutes, and Terry Nestor's terrific 30-yard strike gave Crosfields victory three minutes from time.

They entertain bottom club Golborne on Saturday, kick-off 3pm.

Hot shot Daniels

PENKETH and Sankey Eagle continued their Mid-Cheshire Soccer League second division promotion push by taking all three points off Billinge in an ill-tempered midweek match.

Daniels scored both Eagle goals, including a penalty in a first half during which Billinge had six of their players cautioned.

Billinge had Jeffers sent off early in the second half for violent conduct before having a further two players booked.

Morris hits mark

GREENALLS Padgate St Oswalds came from behind to beat Bollington 2-1 in the Mid-Cheshire Soccer League on Saturday.

The goals came from prolific strike partners Brendan Hennessy and Fergus Morris.

Greenalls travel to Middlewich on Saturday.
