YOUNGSTERS are being invited to take part in a special art competition - to decorate their very own wheelie bin and win a VIP day out at the Cheshire Show.
The competition is being run as a joint project between the Cheshire Show and authorities including Vale Royal Borough Council.
Any Year Six classes that take part in the competition will be given a full-size wheelie bin, delivered to their school and ready to be decorated along the theme of 'litter'.
Each school that enters will also be able to keep their newly-decorated bin for use as a litter bin after the event.
Photographs will then be taken of all the bins and a judging panel from the Cheshire Show will decide on the winners.
The top prize is a VIP day out at the Cheshire Show for the whole class, plus a cash prize for the school.
The winning bins will be displayed at the event, which takes place at Tabley Showground, near Knutsford, on June 21 and 22.
To enter the competition, ring 01829 760020 or Emma Hopkins on 01625 504760.
