TWO Warrington groups will go head to head for the top spot in a battle of the bands in Newton-le-Willows on Sunday.
The competition kicks off at 7pm at the Griffin Hotel, on Earle Street in Newton, with performances from Spontaneously Naked and Indenial.
The winners will scoop a day at the Frog Studios, off Slutchers Lane in Warrington, where Tony Christie recorded Is This The Way To Amarillo, Britain's current number one single.
Places are still available for other hopefuls looking to compete.
The first prize also guarantees a place at Newton Music Festival, to be held on July 23.
