RESIDENTS living near the site of a proposed phone mast are facing a fresh battle to have the plans thrown out.
People living in Great Sankey had successfully fought a scheme to build a mast on Cromwell Avenue, next to Crosfields sports club.
But now, the mobile phone company O2 has launched an appeal against the decision.
One of the protestors, Joyce Monks, says she hopes people will write to the Government planning inspector in the same numbers that they did when the application was being discussed at Warrington Town Hall.
She said: "There was a delay in letting residents know about the appeal, so people have until May 4 to respond."
Objections, which must be submitted in triplicate, must be sent to the Planning Inspectorate, Room 3/03, Kite Wing, Temple Quay House, 2, The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6PN, before the deadline in May.
