A GREYHOUND 'meet and greet' was held by the Retired Greyhound Trust in the foyer at Asda Westbrook, on Saturday.

Volunteers were on hand to offer help and advice to anyone interested in adopting one of the dogs on show, while a lucky dip, free balloons and hats were given out to children.

Trust member, Paul Clark, said: "Our re-homing team endeavours to match the personality and temperament of each dog with the lifestyle of the prospective new owners.

"We offer a complete service of help and advice, escorting people to the kennels to ensure that the right dog is matched to the right family."

Two dogs that are in the kennels at the moment waiting for a loving home are Alice and Topper.

Mr Clark said: "Alice is a very attractive three-year-old bitch, white with brindle markings.

"She retired quite early from racing, is a lot of fun and would be ideally suited to a family with older children.

"Topper is an elegant seven-year-old black dog with white chest markings.

"He is very friendly, gentle and affectionate and walks very easy on the lead, he would be best suited to a family with older children or retired people."
