PUPILS at Cledford Junior School got in touch with the town's Roman past in a two-day art workshop.
Year Three children at the school, in George Sixth Avenue, were joined by professional artist Dorothy Kenworthy and learned the artistic skill of press printing.
Teacher Sarah Hassall said: "We've just started our project on the Romans and the workshops tied in with that.
"They really, really enjoyed the printing. First of all they designed a Roman soldier on paper which they transferred on to fabric."
The fabric patches have now been made into a large display, which will be exhibited in the school.
