A SEVERE fire that tore through a home in Longford was lucky not to have put lives in danger.
That was the verdict of firefighters who went to put out a blaze at Densham Avenue on Thursday evening.
The fire started in the bedroom, causing severe damage.
Firefighters say that although nobody was injured, this was lucky as no smoke alarm had been fitted.
A spokesman said: "We urge people to use smoke alarms. There were no injuries but this was most likely because this fire occurred during daylight hours."
Smoke detectors are freely available from Cheshire Fire Service by calling 0800 389 0053.
