THE Halliwell Jones Stadium - home to the Warrington Wolves - is to receive a thorough spring clean when a dedicated fundraiser washes more than 1,000 of its windows this May.

Maureen Ann Carroll, aged 53, from Wigan, will be taking on the unenviable task from May 9 to 10 in a bid to raise funds for the baby unit at the neo-natal ward at Warrington Hospital.

Last year, Maureen spent four days battling against the elements from 8am until 5pm when she sat on all 25,000 seats at the Wigan JJB Stadium to raise money for a cancer sufferer.

She said: "It has to be something hard or it's not worth doing it.

"I hope to raise well over £1,000, which will help to refurbish a room for mums and dads of ill children."

If you are interested in sponsoring Maureen, or making a donation, you can send cheques, made payable to Warrington neo-natal unit, direct to Warrington Hospital on Lovely Lane.
