VISTAS of opportunity are opening up for a student from Northwich who played a vital role in a winning team.
Steven Williams, 18, from Shelley Avenue, Wincham, was one of a team of four from Reaseheath College that dug for victory in the first round of the UK Landscape Skills Competition.
The four NVQ horticultural students faced a contest lasting more than six hours in which they had to build a landscaped area from ground level to finished garden.
After winning the regional event, the team will go on to try their skill in the national final in September.
