A TEENAGER who was issued with an Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO) after terrorising Winsford residents has been given another chance after breaching one of its terms.

Kayleigh Hodgson, 19, admitted breaching her ASBO on October 2 last year but after serving several months in prison on remand following the incident has since turned her life around and the courts decided against sending her back into custody. Hodgson breached the order when she and a group of youths approached the back gate of a Winsford property of a man who had been experiencing difficulties with youths.

The man heard someone shout a rude insult at him and this turned out to be Hodgson who was arrested nine days later.

Hodgson has now moved from the Winsford area and has found full time employment and Duncan Bould, defending, told the court that there had been a radical improvement in her behaviour.

Hodgson, who has 12 previous convictions for 23 offences including assault, criminal damage, affray, possession of an offensive article, taking a motor vehicle without consent and drunk and disorderly behaviour, was issued with a five year ASBO last year.

In sentencing Hodgson to a two year conditional discharge at Chester Crown Court on Friday Judge Roger Dutton warned her that she would be sent to prison if she breaches the order again in the future.

He said: "If your old ways come back and if you start behaving badly in your new area or in Winsford then the magistrates will send you here and it will probably be me who will deal with you both on that new matter and this one and custody would be likely."
