THE trustees of Barnton's new memorial hall have resubmitted plans for the building after having to reduce it in size to keep in budget.
Plans for the new hall, to be sited at Barnton Football Club's Townfield Lane site, had originally been accepted.
But plans went back to the drawing board as the trustees tried to save money by changing the design on the roof.
There is a change to the external building, which has reduced from 330 to 300 square metres.
John Turnbull, chairman of the trustees, said: "The tender returns that we had meant that we have had to reduce the size of the hall to keep in budget.
"We hope to have the new hall ready by the end of the year."
The 108-year-old memorial hall in Lydyett Lane is due for demolition on November 8.
