A CONMAN stole cash from an 86-year-old Cuddington pensioner after telling her she owed him money for work he had carried out.

The woman let the man into her home at 1pm last Wednesday.

After the man told her she owed him money, the woman went to find her purse.

When she returned she asked her if he could have some water and when she came back the money had gone.

Police are not disclosing how much cash was stolen.

The pensioner was uninjured and was able to describe the conman to them.

He is white, of medium build, with brown wavy hair and a tanned or sunburned complexion.

He is 5ft 6ins and was wearing a green and red shirt, blue jeans and blue trainers.

The pensioner also said he had a new red mountain bike.

A police spokesman said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who recognises the description or who has been approached by this man."
